The production was realized by Teatro Comunale together with Opéra National de Paris and Metropolitan Opera House. In Florence it had 7 performances. In Paris, Palais-Garnier, 18 performances from January 21st, 1986; the conductor was Zubin Mehta, with Cecilia Gasdia in the title role. It was then staged in New York, Metropolitan Opera House, on October 16th 1989; the conductor Carlos Kleiber, with Editha Gruberova in the title role. The production stayed in repertoire, and was revived at the Metropolitan Opera House in several season until 1997, for a total of 88 performances.
