The Archive holds a video copy of the 12-minute documentary, from which the following credits are listed:
cinematography: Daniele Nannuzzi
music: Alessio Vlad and Claudio Capponi
production: Regione Toscana
A documentary commissioned from Zeffirelli by the Region of Tuscany, intended as a promotional video to be distributed to tour operators and Italian Cultural Institutes abroad. In the film, the city of Siena appears only in aerial photographs: the municipality denied Zeffirelli permission to film in the city because he had publicly opposed the Palio, which he described as “a bloody slaughter.”
The documentary is preserved in digital format in the Foundation’s archive.
