On November 4, 1966, Florence was struck by a devastating flood.
Notified by his sister Fanny, Zeffirelli drove to Florence and managed to document the disaster by taking hundreds of photographs. In the days that followed, with the help of a crew provided by RAI, he created this documentary, intending to distribute it worldwide to raise funds in support of the city. The narrator of the documentary was Richard Burton, who volunteered to read the commentary written by Furio Colombo in both English and Italian.
